Welcome Math Parents

Monday, April 16:

Today we started basic division facts. Please check out the grid paper that we did in class today.  Even though some students have the basic facts, I still want them to write the answer on the grid paper and subtract. Please see examples.

Tuesday, April 17

Today in class, we did division with a remainder. Please see the grid paper with fact sheet attached. Students can use the fact sheet to find the closest number to divide by.

Homework is due tomorrow. Please make a comment if your child does not understand.

April 16 Homework

On the homework, after "Division Word Problems," it mentions to use the grid paper. When we did the example in class on page 31, we did not use the grid paper. I would suggest not using the grid paper for  the word problems. If you want to use it, that's fine with me, but it is not necessary. On the other page, I do want students to use the grid by writing out all the numbers and subtracting to zero out.

Thanks Sheila
